GEDGRAVE, SUFFOLK

There are no references to coprolite workings in Gedgrave but a large crag pit 30 feet deep was referred to in geological literature in Lower Gedgrave. (Whitaker,Proc.Geol.Soc.vol.v.) As coprolites were exploited from the base of many crag pits in the area, it’s possible it was exploited here.
