FOOTPATHS AND BRIDLEWAYS
In
early 2004 the Everton Paths Group was set up. It is linked to P3, the Parish
Paths Partnership, run by Bedfordshire County Council. When Bernard O’Connor,
the P3 co-ordinator, moved over the border to Gamlingay, he took on the role
there too. Anyone interested in the group should contact the co-ordinator,
Bernard O’Connor, at fquirk202@aol.com
We
can do as little or as much as we like. Its aim is to monitor local footpaths
and bridleways and pass on concerns to P3 who have funds to improve them, add
signage etc.
Already,
concerns about a number of routes have been passed on. Some have been resolved
and others are being investigated.
Immediate
plans are afoot to produce an A3 parish map with details of each footpath and
bridleway.
The plan to produce a website with details of all the footpaths and bridleways with accounts of the local geology, archaeology, history, geography, natural history etc has now been realised.
