Archibald Frank BAKER
Born
in Everton, lived at Sandy, Beds. Joined the Bedfordshire Regiment as a
Private, No. 40303. Later transferred as a Private to 26th Battalion
Royal Fusiliers, service No. 60020. Killed in action in France on 6th
February, 1917.
Born
in Everton in 1883, the son of Samuel and Ann Chapman. Employed as a Labourer.
William married Clara Dennis at Everton Parish Church on 24th March,
1913. Enlisted in the 1st Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment in 1914. Served
as a Private, No. 19047. Killed in action at Hill 60, near Ypres (now Leper),
Belgium on 20th April 1915, aged 32.
Born
in Everton in 1885/86, the son of Ebeneezer Darlow. Herbert served in the
Regular Army until 1911, when he was transferred to the Special Reserve with
the rank of Sergeant. Later employed as an Engineer. Herbert married Catherine
Elizabeth Sparks at Everton Parish Church on 26th June, 1911. They
had two children, Olive Pamela Maud (1913) and Mary Florence Helena (1914).
Upon the outbreak of war in August 1914, Herbert was recalled to the
Bedfordshire Regiment in which he served with his old rank of Sergeant, No.
3/4016 with the 8th Battalion. Killed in action at the St Quentin
Canal, Marcoing, France on 8th (?) December, 1917. Age 32.

in Everton in 1885, the son of Charles and Lucy Endersby. Conscripted into the
1st Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment as a Private, No. 23265. Killed
in action near Beaurain, France on 23rd October, 1918. Age 32.
Born
in Everton in 1884, the son of Kate Giggle. Employed as a Labourer. Parker
married Mary Chapman at Everton Parish Church on 20th March, 1909.
They had two children, Ethel Mabel (1910) and Stanley James (1912). Joined the
2nd Battalion Middlesex Regiment as a Private, No. G/50510. Killed
in action near Hooge, Flanders on 31st July, 1917. Age 32. Buried in
Plot 3, Row J, Grave 7 of Hooge Crater Cemetery, Belgium.
Born
in Tetworth in 1897, the son of William and Agnes Hull. Conscripted into the 4th
Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment in 1916 as a Private, No. 22812. Killed in
action on the Somme, France on 8th February 1917. Age 19.

Enlisted in the 8th Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment as a Private,
No. 12999 in 1914. Killed in action near Flers-Courcelette, Somme, France on 15th
September, 1916. Age 23.

Bedfordshire Regiment as a Private, No. 26757. Later transferred to the 6th
Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment as a Private, No. 43159. Killed in action
in France on 3rd April 1919. Age 29.

Lee LAWSON
Born
in Everton in 1898, the son of Samuel and Sophia Lawson. Younger brother of
James. Joined the 2nd Battalion Royal Fusiliers as a Private, No.
G/13965. Killed in action on the western Front on 5th September,
1918. Age 20.
Born
in Tetworth in 1882/83, the son of David and Elizabeth Meeks. Conscripted into
the 16th Battalion Middlesex Regiment, as a Private, No. G/43378.
Killed in action in Cambrai, France on 1st December, 1917. Age 34.
Thomas has no known grave, and is commemorated on Panel 9 of the Cambrai
Memorial, France.
